Eric Loren

Eric Loren hasn’t taken the traditional film school route into directing, but trained as an actor at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He has worked extensively in feature films, TV, and theatre in the West End, Royal Court, Hampstead, Soho, Bush and toured more places than he’d care to mention. He has played leads in World and British premieres and award-winning dramas.

Eric worked as a developmental producer/writer with DNA Films/TV and writer Kerry Peers on ‘Becoming Boudica’ – a new TV series based on the Manda Scott novels. He has just completed writing and directing Barclaycard 2025, and is currently on board with Timeworks Films to direct the feature ‘Charlie Don’t Surf’ – based on his short ‘Cracked Eggs’ – which he co-wrote with writer Steve Jones. Jared Harris and Barry Sloane are attached to play the leads. He has also co-developed with Jillian Edelstein the feature film Wexler, based on the life of the two-time Academy-nominated screenwriter Norman Wexler, which he is co-producing alongside the documentary The Double Life of Norman Wexler.

Eric also wrote and directed in the Education sector. He has co-created and directed two award-winning series, The Storyspinner and Stories From Around the World as well as the Traditional Storyteller App, which won BETT 2015 for Early Years Digital Content, Best Educational Resource of the Year 2012 for Early Years ICT and The English Speaking Union’s Presidents Award for teaching English.
